Lerone Bennet Jr. is a well known American scholar and historian...He is an Executive Editor Emeritus of Ebony magazine. He is also a Kappa (EE-YO!). He said something very interesting and thought provoking. I can't keep it myself.
"Never give up on the challenge God has given you by making you black."
-The test and trials of being born black in America are ever-present. His outlook has changed my life forever. He was specifically addressing black men when he made this statement. But it is safe to say that everyone can pocket this quote and find it useful, regardless of gender, race, or creed.
